Frozen Grapes - Natures Candy
Got a candy habit that you’re finding hard to kick or need a little sweet treat but you don’t want to reach for the jelly babies?!
Enter the humble grape….
This isnt a recipe as it takes zero prep other than a bit of washing and drying but it will make you super happy when you have done it, I promise!
Refreshing, healthy, zero added sugars and taste just like candy - perfect for summer or even added to drinks instead of ice for a fun little addition.
I like to use red and white grapes, with a slight preference to reds as I think they taste more ‘grapey’ but the white are sweeter for sure!
HOW TO MAKE FROZEN GRAPES
It wont be hard to believe when I say this is the easiest food prep you can do. 5 minutes and 12 hours in the freezer and you’re good to go.
Rinse your picked grapes in a colander under cold water to ensure any dirt or dust has been removed.
Use a kitchen towel to dry off the grapes ensuring they have no droplets left on them and they can turn to ice upon freezing.
Place in a freezer bag, ideally lying each grape out flat.
Freezer for 12 hours or overnight; ready to be enjoyed in all their frozen goodness.
These candy alternatives are a great snack when trying to kick a sugar habit; they are low in fat and calories and help to curb those sugar craving that can creep up at various points in the day plus a little added fibre from eating the whole fruit is a health boosting bonus!
